On Tuesday September 13, 2011, the Chaudhry family received the wonderful news that a positive decision had been made on their Humanitarian and Compassionate application, making them eligible to apply for permanent residence status in Canada.
The Chaudhrys and their supporters are thrilled with this news, which marks the end of a nearly 8 year long struggle for the family to obtain status in Canada. This great news comes after the original decision on their H&C application was successfully appealed in the winter of 2010.
A big thank you to everyone who has supported the family throughout this difficult process: To everyone who has written letters in support of the family, who has donated money, who came to an event in support of the family, attended their Federal Court hearing last winter, or supported in any other way, big or small! This has truly been a community effort, and the family is very appreciative.
